The Western Shooting Horse™ Association (WSHA) is dedicated to promoting the sport of Mounted Shooting and the accomplishments of equine trained in activities utilizing firearms in competition, reenactment, law enforcement, film and television. The WSHA is a membership organization with a program of events, education and competition protocol that actively pursues the growth in the number of participants, both human and equine, in the variety of activities that utilize the Western Shooting Horse™.
WHSA Membership
The WSHA membership program promotes the growth of individual, family and corporate membership and provides beneficial services for its members. The WSHA produces, sponsors and promotes CMSA affiliated competitions for the benefit of its members, disseminates pertinent literature and promotes educational programs to enhance and help guide the sport of Mounted Shooting and activities of the Western Shooting Horse™.
Western Shooting Horse™ - The Magazine
The WSHA publishes Western Shooting Horse™, the periodical journal of the Western Shooting Horse™ Association. Western Shooting Horse dives inside America’s fascination with Horses, Cowboys and the great American West. Within the fast growing sport of Mounted Shooting, Western Shooting Horse covers the people, products, horses, competition and adventure that surround this burgeoning national pastime. WSH Mag also delves into police on horseback, reenactors and shooting horses of film and television and provides content specifically geared toward the world of shooting horse activities in areas of training, education, health and events.
Western Shooting Horse Registry
The Western Shooting Horse™ Association also collects and records the breed pedigrees and accomplishments of equine trained in activities utilizing firearms in competition, reenactment, law enforcement, film and television and provides a continuum of this information on its website to promote and encourage their activities. The Registry serves to identify the horses, their owners, breeders and trainers in an effort to heighten awareness of the special talents and athleticism associated with such equine.
The Association
The WSHA also generates growth of membership through the promotion of the Association with a comprehensive program of advertising and sponsorship programs. It is the intent of the WSHA to invigorate participation from manufacturers and those whose products support the horse and rider by soliciting sponsorship and other types of support that directly benefits all related shooting horse organizations, programs and participants.
